Ok, I know this is totally off-topic but I couldn’t let it pass without comment. USA today has a short article about a guy in North Carolina who was fined $1K for using bio-fuel and was told to expect a similar fine from the feds. Apparently he needs to put up a $2,500 bond and get a license even though this is his own car. The quote that got me was from Reggie Little, assistant director of the tax agency’s motor fuel taxes division:
We’re not here to hurt the small guy, we’re just trying to make sure that the playing field is level.
Yes, big oil has much to fear from a guy in North Carolina. Good to know our government is earning their money.
